The situation is getting worse. Our plan was to attack instantly but it looks like our enemy knows about it. It's to late for any plans - this time we just got to stay alive.

I played this map a long time ago. From what I remember it's a tricky one but not too hard. Use hit'n'run strategy and buy dead AI's heroes with big stats.

Git gud - Fear of Hell
Beatable map if you play smart and optimize play, use purple as an ally not an enemy, either hit mid town before he does or flank the other guys by going south while they beat purple. User resurection a lot.
Author: Achul (Anon), 12-11-2018 14:32 great map - Fear of Hell Great map!
Beat it in HoTA original version.
I love this map because the game doesn't get easier until the very end. So that sliding scale HoMM has where the end game becomes boring never happens.
The way to beat it is two fold. First of all, attack the enemy as soon as you see them. The further north the get, the more events they trigger that give them bonuses.
Secondly cheese using high power heroes to destroy your first foes a couple of times and then retreat. After that attack and finish them off with a high Attack/Defense Armorer/Offense hero.
Attempt to seize the enemy land to the south with your hero at some point, abandoning your northern sector. Do this only if you feel you have a very strong army. It will destroy their reinforcements.
Author: Will (United States), 01-03-2016 11:36 One of the worst maps I've ever played - Fear of Hell Impossible to beat with a normal playthrough. After 2 tries I realized the computer was cheating and turned on infinite gold... Week 3 Day 1, two 50-50-50-50 AI heroes come stomping in against my Level 14 hero. Ridiculous.
Author: Homura, 28-08-2015 05:31 Re - Fear of Hell @DragonKnight Thanks God, I beat it.
Author: Homura, 27-08-2015 20:44 Re - Fear of Hell Hi DragonKnight, I played it on 200% difficulty. If you manage to beat it, I'll highly appreciate! Actually I'm also gonna give it another try today with a cheesy way that recently came to my mind :)
Author: DragonKnight (London, UK), 27-08-2015 18:10 i'll give it a try - Fear of Hell I will also try it and let you know. At what difficulty did you play? Wish me luck :). Which similaielr 'impossible 9; maps did you try?
Author: Homura, 27-08-2015 05:13 Beatable? - Fear of Hell I've played through plenty of maps called impossible so far, but none of them is impossible like this one (actually this one is indicated to be expert difficulty) from my perspective. Almost every single hero from the blue and green players keeps increasing their 4 skills (ADPK) from NOWHERE. It looks like the program itself keeps doing that crazy thing (adding to their 4 skills). How illogical. You manage to capture some those crazy heroes but get no good artifacts since their skills are "fake", and then new crazy guys spawn out in no time. How frustrating. I'm so glad to finally see this map on this site, since I have a question for months: Is this map beatable??
Author: Deferatto, 01-05-2015 15:19 ... This map is already included in the HotA 1.3.8 but have another name (called "Cold day in hell") so if you got this version of the HotA you don't need to download it.

A hint? - Fear of Hell
Without spoiling it completely, can you give a clue how you beat it? I managed to get quite a ways since the computer was wasting time and beat a few of the crazy computer heroes - but their spells just wear my army out eventually. 1200 spell point heroes with 30-40 defense and resurrect >_>
Trying to snipe their town was beaten by expert town portal. Or is this a pray that you get Armageddon and spam it kind of map :P - I didn't really focus on building up the mage guild so far

Re - Fear of Hell
I'm sorry for seeing this so late! You may have beaten the map already :b Yes, I "cheated" with Armageddon (sorcery hero casts it and run...), and eventually hired one of the defeated monster heroes from my tavern. But there is literally no decent way to beat the map (as far as I'm concerned) given that the computer cheats in the first place >_> That's why I don't like this map.

How they "cheat" - Fear of Hell
If you open the map editor you'll notice a lot of events that give +5000 experience and +2 primary attributes. Only trigered by the computer players they are not set to cancel after first visit. The computer players can just keep running over them again and again getting ridiculous stats. By setting them to cancel after first visit it becomes a fair map.

OMG this WAS indeed impossible, lol! - Fear of Hell
Ok, so granted, H3 is a VERY old game, but... I still have played it over the years (always been a fan of M&M even back in the JVC + Xeen / Terra / Darkside etc days)...
Now, every single map I've ever played... I've beaten. Not because I'm awesome, but because... if the game is fair--beating the computer's strategies is just not that bad, especially if you know how to play.
But THIS map?!?! OMG... wtf--same as another player: I CHECKED THE MAP, THE COMPUTER IS ALLOWED TO INFINITELY CHEAT, lol. :) I... don't THINK this was on purpose, but... my god...
