War is upon the Realms; Seems that someone or something has sparked up all possible feuds and disputes in the Moonsea region. Neighbors and former allies are set on warfare with all.
Author: Impressed, 20-07-2017 14:22 And now on the finish line - Forgotten Realms Only the final Big Bad remains now, and I stand by my thoughts about the Society and the Underdark.
The Society REALLY needs to provide pointers to the locations of the nominators. I handed in the quest for the dracolich many hours after actually killing it (without the quest), and that's actually a lot of game days since I avoid the macro part of the game. 'course I didn't even need that nomination anymore then, but back when I was hunting for them I had the dracolich killed very early but just couldn't find whom to tell about it.
I also spent a lot of time just scanning the map for oracles I might have seen but not visited, but I'm not going to hold a limitation of the game itself against you. However, as I said, the Society should really let me know where to look for nominations. The Society is easy to find, the dragon caves pretty easy too, but these random wilderness muppets aren't.
I have no idea how old this map actually is, but judging from upload date it's damn fresh. I only just got into custom maps though.
Author: Impressed, 17-07-2017 17:47 It was lovingly crafted, surely - Forgotten Realms I've been having a very enjoyable adventure with this map. I play as 7 stealth heroes who have become godlike at this point. The map is beautiful.
That being said, these three points bring the score down:
1) The starter Life town has a choke point immediately west of it where the AI has bugged twice into an infinite turn. One army will stand in the choke point and the other will strafe back and forth trying to find a way around. I kid you not, it keeps going for hours without running out of movement points. I had to cheat, first to find out what was happening and then to have the movement points to go kill one army off on my turn so that it wouldn't happen.
2) The Underdark. It's inspired to use dark terrain like that but it just makes the map useless. If I got the lore of the map right, I should be correct in saying that the part of the subterannean world that's supposed to be the Underdark is barely shown at all on your miniature here, because 90% of it is dark passages that are as black as an unexplored area.
3) Even on the highest difficulty and while gimping myself by refusing to use stacks, I find killing your dragon bosses the easier task. The harder one is finding someone who wanted them killed, and now lately finding them at all. I have GM Scouting and a +6 bonus from items and still can't find the one the society gave me as my first quest after I acquired the nominations. It doesn't really add up that the Spine of the World should be north of Suzail unless we go very far north, but neither around Suzail nor in the actually icy mountains could I find anything.
But, I am giving you a seven. This remains a work of art, and has given me much enjoyment out of an old but dear game.
Author: Karpo (Baltimore, MD, USA), 06-02-2016 03:52 Great RGP map ! - Forgotten Realms My favorite map to date. I've played it several times and keep going back to it for casual play. Great asymmetrical RPG style map. Thank your for this map!
