Troubled times have found their way to Aranatha. The King was slain in battle leaving command of the Kingdom to his young prince, the now King Oyssin. Though Oyssin finished the war against Chaos, the losses were great. Smelling their weakness, the peoples of Death then attacked the Kingdom. Upon returning home from his victory, King Oyssin finds that many nobles and priests have rebelled against his rule.
Play as King Oyssin (Red), Duchess Trinity (Blue), Cardinal Lindsborg (Purple), Marquis Beatrice (Orange), Viscount Wilhelm of Sherm (Green) or Baroness Stephany (Teal) as each vie for the throne and rule of Aranatha.
King Oyssin [Red] has the easiest position. His forces are well-protected in a one-way in, one-way out scenario. He has a powerful garrison of angels protecting the path to his castles. His closest enemy is Duchess Trinity. Once she is eliminated or her towns conquored, it's an easy victory for the King. King Oyssin ranks 1st in ease of play.
It would seem that Duchess Trinity [Blue] has the next best position with a powerful military, garrisons protecting her rowns (of which she has two) and ample resources. However, she is pinned by the King to the North. The garrisons and the obstacles on the path towards each other only serve to slow King Oyssin. It may not be wise to venture forth until the King is eliminated, but this is much easier said than done. Nonetheless, due to her advantages in resources and starting armies, the Duchess ranks 3rd in ease of play.
Cardlinal Lindsborg [Purple] would seem to have less advantage than Duchess Trinity, but such is not the case. While the Duchess has advantage in resources, towns and armies, the Cardinal's position is a much stronger position. He faces little threat on his island from attack, and just accross the water are plentiful resources for him to build massive armies. The Cardinal ranks 2nd in ease of play.
Marquis Beatrice [Orange] and Viscount Wilhelm [Green] are similarly positioned. Each faces threats from each other, from the Duchess and from the Cardinal. As things progress, the Baroness may also come into play, but she generally poses little threat. Thus, with Purple and Blue scouting their resources and lands, these two factions have more to defend, and they generally are defending against greater numbers. Due to her magic, slightly larger armies and slightly more resources available, the Marquess has advantage over the Viscount. Thus, the Marquess [Orange] ranks 4th in ease of play and the Viscount [Green] ranks 5th.
The Baroness has her work cut out for her, and is the most difficult to play. She has one mine but a few weeekly resources mines, no army to speak of, no town (though the town near her is an easy take and should be accomplished after a few turns), and the nearest 2 towns are locked from producing 4th level creatures. There are veins and abaonded mines available for the Duchess to create a sustainable income, but if she is to win the throne, she must act quickly and aggressively. Thus, the Baroness ranks 6th out of 6 for ease of play.
This scenario was stripped from a campaign, "Tales of Aranatha", but seemed worthy of a single scenario.

In an effort to stir up trouble, the pirates of the Ingress Isles tricked you and the other lords of this region into going to war, thus making it easier for them to raid merchant ships. But you have no intention of allowing them to profit from your mistakes, so you're determined to conquer not only the other lords, but the pirates as well.
