Map Type: 1-player, Strategic, Choose your own Adventure, Role-Play, Timed, Variable Paths.
The Dark Elves have been meticulously planning their assault upon the forces of Life and the Elves of the Light, and you have been thrust into the middle! Powerful allies await your decisions, vast lands and seas lay out to be explored and conquered, but it is the depth of your soul which must be triumphed over if you are to find ultimate success.

I don't want to give away too much about the ending, but it is a battle of attrition. Send in all of your allies before you send in your main hero and he should have 0 mana by then, which is a big help.
Author: Tom (Indiana), 27-01-2011 22:50 Need some help Could you walk me through the dark shadow battle. 88 dragons. I had the dwarven, Acadamy, and Haven allies. They were leaves in the wind them my guy died as well. I loved this map up until that battle and I'm on moderate. Thats why I give it a 7. All that play time for naught.

Author: Nate (Austin, US), 24-01-2011 23:34 Like One of the Best I beta tested this map for its creator, who is a personal friend of mine. However, I assure you that the comments below are completely unbiased (seriously).
Reasons why this map is an unquestionable 10:
-Very well designed: Unrivaled attention to detail, with a ton of visual and gameplay customization and stored procedures
-Challenging: This map is very well tuned to leave a small margin of error in order to beat it (I played it on Hard difficulty only). The timed aspect is definitely a factor.
-Excellent replayability for a 1 player map: I tested this map for about 50 hours in 1 week and remained enthralled the entire time. The variable path map design is awesome.
-Great Storyline/RP
I have played COUNTLESS hours of HOMM in my life. Including all the canned and fan maps that I have played, this one ranks with the all-time greats, if not the very best.
