Author: Alex (Switzerland), 18-04-2024 07:23 Single player is too easy - This is Legion On the one hand, I like the idea of the map - all players start with strong armies and towns are well-guarded. However, the AI simlpy cannot compete with a human player here:
1. AI cannot combine combination artifacts, yet getting the one near your starting town is the main priority in the early game.
2. The above-mentioned combination artifacts are guarded by seemingly scary 2000 Diamond Golems... which can be defeated on day 1 if you have an Ammo Cart and know how to do kiting in HoMM3. The AI doesn't, so I ended up collecting all of these artifacts myself.
3. Spells are severly restricted, but some disabled spells (e.g., Resurrection, Meteor Shower, Prayer) can still be obtained by hiring heroes who specialize in them (and passing the spell via Scholar). Technically, the AI can do that, but it's not going to focus on that, so it may only happen by accident. Oh, and Tan (Dungeon) starts with Jeddite, which is a huge advantage.
4. The only challenging part is defeating the Garrisons with 1000 Azure Dragons. I only came up with 2 solutions: Force Field or tons of Liches from the Cloak of the Undead King. The AI cannot use either of them, so essentially you can never loose.
Force Field is disabled, so the only way to get it is by finding the Tome of Earth Magic.
The Cloak of the Undead King is the combination artifact for Green, but if you play fast you can get it before him. Fortunately, there are plenty of monsters on the map waiting to be turned into Liches.
