Around the end of week 3/4 the computer comes over with a massive overpowering army. This results in strategy & tactics doing hit & run, battle avoidance, etc. So fun.
I'm playing it for about the 12th time all the way through.

Author: Thievy, 09-12-2021 22:06 Like Engaging and well made map - World 4 You I have played this map now several times and I can confidently say it is one of the best ones to spend my time with. The start is a little slow as there are no free resources lying around, but there is nothing discouraging about it. You can play around to maximize your efficiency and train your movement management skils (despite there being no drawbacks for not doing so). Sea is full of goodies which is already pointed out before me, making things easier.
The AI is of course dumb and not really much of a challenge, however, they can still collect a fair few troops over time with all the events.
I definately wouldn't say this is a boring map. It has lots of things to discover, you can level your heroes to infinity, and you can choose to do whatever you want (I particularly enjoyed demon farming on this map), it really is up to you. Such a cool one if you just want to relax a play a fun game!

But the AI plays too stupidly and it is easy to beat them because of this. Once you rush to ships and sea 1st week or 2nd week, you get too much advantage because of riches in the sea. Especially if you got a navigation hero, you are going to crush enemy easily. The AI don't seem to go sea ever so, I had teal AI player who went to the sea in 4th month! And when the AI goes on the sea, it is so clueless! He sent his main hero with all army to the sea, and then exploring there without any purpose. This let me capture all his towns easily because he had no defense. To improve this map, fix the AI and make it play more intelligently. Or maybe remove all flotsams and shipwrecks from the sea so the human player don't get much resource advantage.

Everything on expert and not matter what I do the open skill slot will not show Air Magic. So, what about the witch huts? Nope, no air magic. Allright, the 12 magic universities I found? Did you disable Air magic? It would be nice to know before I go on a 3 day (real-time) quest to find air magic...And fail.
Map looks nice and enough to plunder. I like how the AI is better in this then Heroes 4.

I always play on 160% difficulty and it is fun and challenging. I like the hugeness, the lots of ressources and artifacts and especially the weekly reinforcements after some time. It's a pretty good map, I enjoyed it

Played hotseats with 2 humans on expert and indeed computer had great armies but were quite easily beaten (dispite the fact that they had a bigger army for 85% of the game - proper strategy and 8 heroes compensate that)
Highly recommended for everyone.

I focused on exploring the map and raising the primary state of your hero before attacking in order to win, because the other players will come with zounds of creatures. I finished the map with 85 attack, 82 defense, 75 spell power and 65 knowledge.
Waiting for other giant maps from the same author :-D
Author: jojo988 (Brussels, Belgium), 20-01-2015 18:25 too hard to play in expert mode the map is really good but too hard in expert cause every single ressource is guarded, so if you start with no ressource you lose too much time to be strong enough to beat the guards and get ressources while the ennemy (who has big ressources at the beginning) is already building an impressive army... better to play hard difficulty on this one
