AC est une adaption pour HotA de Avatars.
Les avatars sont descendus sur le monde pour assurer la suprematie de leur peuple respectif. Mais cela a reveille les forces des tenebres. Les oracles ne sont d accord que sur une chose. S assurer l appui des Dieux aines sera determinant pour la victoire.
Archangelcastle.
First it s a kind of story line / scenario, But text is in french. Only a few text ingame are in english. It can be play as a normal map however. There is a main quest that help to win, but is not must / win condition. Fill the quest without understand hints in the story would be more difficult of course.
Map pack include three variations of the same map. Original map Was made in 2000 under AB, was dedicated to Archangelcastle castle web site and members and uploaded only here. This site web dont host maps for years now. In 2015 the original map was drained --from where?-- and avaible on a few russian web site.
Version here, were slightly reworked under HotA. It s mostly cosmetic, with some little change. Even hota 1.42 is needed to play, specific HotA town is not available to play, nor conflux.
Human Playable 5/8
Player can be Rempart, castle, Stronghold, Fortress, Tower. AI is dungeon, necro, Inferno. Dungeon and necro are playable in the easy version, inferno is never player. Conflux and HotA towns cant appear.
Each faction have it s own story, own events and native lands. It make replayability rather good, imo.
Archangelcastle is the more challenging version. Player can loose here or more probably suffer enough defeats to leave. It s far to be impossible and is not very hard on an other hand. It s a story line scenario map, not a challenging map. No flying spells or artefacts are available. Player can have town portal via special condition. AI have town portal.
Les Avatars. Chance to be defeated are not very high. Condition same as above, except town portal is available to player via special conditions, but AI is unlikely to know this spell. Only solution would be AI defeat then recuit one of your heroes who knows this spell.
Ave Tenebrae. The easy version. You play AI, players are turned in AI. Ususally you must have Town portal without doing any effort. It s just a question of time. Your only dangerous foe is the other former AI. Usually playing Dungeon is more easy than necromancer. The weakest AI, inferno, is the only faction not playable.
Sorry for language, but their is tons of text, and I dont feel courageous enough to translate all of it, especially 16 years after. Lot of time had been spend on decoration and test on this map. I hope I didnt cause trouble in the work switching it on HotA. Made it an HotA was anyway more a modest way to support the mod rather than a necessity.
