Seit Jahrhunderten beherrschen die grausamen Magier, abgeschottet hinter magischen Barrieren, von ihrer Veste aus das Konigreich Anwyl. Die Zauberer haben mit den Hollenfursten, die tief im Inneren des Feuerbergs hausen, einen finsteren Pakt geschlossen. Die Volker Anwyls wurden versklavt und gefoltert. Es ist ihnen gar verboten, in Siedlungen zu leben.
Nun ist es an Euch! Eint die Volker unter Eurem Banner und vertreibt die Magier aus den Stadten. Aber hutet Euch vor der Rache der machtigen Zauberer und ihrer Verbundeten. Es hei?t, nur ein einziger Pfad fuhrt hinauf auf den Feuerberg, den kein Sterblicher betreten kann. Seid Ihr stark genug fur diesen Krieg?

Mods make game more interesting, minor changes must be done in editor, but still those maps are exceptional works overall.
One of them is "Anwyl". Always a joy to try different approaches in tactics and factions.
P.S.: Those German guys...Damn...even their mapmaking reaches perfection, just like their car industries. Most of my favourite maps are made in Deutschland.

HINTS: I found out that Fortress is the one faction that stands a chance other than normal. Choose the yellow flag as a start up castle (snow terain).
I edit my own version of the map, to add a memmory mentor, and a arcane library (if you can't get Armagedon in your own 2 castles, it's impossible to expand).

The only problem... War cry don't work

Building up an army at the early stage involves a very slow process indeed since the starting town only produces level one and two creatures. AI gets quite active once you've got a decent army and hero. When I was playing month two week three a level 16 academy hero invades with 24 titans! By that time my army was only half that number. Challenging map.
Author: Koellefornia (Germany), 29-11-2008 19:58 Re: War Cries Hi! When this Map was created, the Expansion Pack with the Orc-Fraction wasn´t published yet. The Map itself is not upgraded to the "Tribe of the East"-Expansion Pack. Sorry, but in this Case you have to edit the War Cries yourself with the Help of the Map Editor :o)
