Great theming, very smart use of multiple heroes and the surprise at the end (*cough*grail*cough*) was the cherry on top. Finished the map in month 12 week 3. Fights not too difficult but a challenge but fair for non veterans of the game. All in all...best HoMM3 map I ever played!

Loved author's trolling :) Didn't went for race with Black Jack though, just provoked him and killled. If you looking for interesting pve tactical map then choose something else, like Paragon 2.0, battles are easy.

Frodo can only make it to the spot right behind the castle but no further. No matter where I click the cursor (including the subterrain entrance), no path is shown. I can't move beyond that spot (see red circle in the picture, that's where Frodo is currently). There is a boat - but Frodo can't move to that boat. Tried first destroying the boat but that didn't do anything.

I accidentally set Denithor loose and he hopped over near Osgilliath and stole the Tome of Earth Magic then died when I took Minas Tirith and he couldn't get a castle in time. So that screwed me later on. Lots of saving and redoing.
I still have not figured out a way to take Tolfalas, the island castle. But it is not needed to win the game.

I just noticed that the intended way to beat Smaug was for him to take the vulnerability,
I beat him without doing this, now there is a quest guard that will only let Smaug pass that is blocking me out of a one way portal entrance.

After like 10 battles after that I learn that I need 380 spirits to pass. Guess what? Start over!
I had to start over a few times, making mistakes like that.
And then I realize that 380 spirits is a bit too much. I've got 270 after killing all killable mobs around. A lot of fighting. Do I need to start over again? Ridiculous.
