Author: Aeris (China), 08-01-2013 21:50 To Nautilus(the mapmaker?) We Chinese ones these days are discussing this map heatedly
All German makes it hard
Efreets are easy to kill, don't need to split troops, genies one side (this side )and griffins another, the opposite
But how? 1, to kill Sir Lock, other than the turrets damge
2, three quest guards requiring Blackshard of the dead knight?
3, how to transform a hero into another specialtiy in sod?
4, don't you realize( or already know ) that Mr. Fat could be hired in the Tavern after he moved into the garrison of castle?
5, I see the 6424 level sorcery hero with armageddon blade and 5000 azure dragons.....are you sure we needn't to spend an enormous amount of time to kill him?
a good map, much more complicated than Qin the Supreme
Author: Valery (France), 08-01-2013 00:21 wog Maybe you used some wog version? In SoD the only way is to hypnotize once, block then blind imps (8 mana vs 18 hypnotize)
Battle is done but very close, no mana left, had to use crystal to kill the remaining 1 rust.

Funny
Cause I did not want this to happen either, seems I forgot you could just blind instead of hypnotize... but I think you deserve to move on :)
(There is a way other than that, believe me (I would never rely on turrets damage that heavily if it comes to such close calls, would lead to leaks and, of course, frustration in cases of bad luck)

(from www.gamerhome.net/bbs)
An easier way to kill the rust is like this:
hypnotize imp, put it bottom-left to cart
put crystal above cart
put shooters two grids left to cart
then the rust won't move forever.

New Version...
... With 20 rusts should have fixed this
Author: Mira (Bulgaria), 07-01-2013 01:29 Re Well, the hypnotized imps worked pretty well. You only protect the sharp shooters, not the ammo cart. The rusty dragons cannot reach them. Soon they'll stop shooting and you continue with magic arrow and shooting towers. You take appox. 200 points per turn this way. And the imps keep stealing mana on your behalf, so you get extra mana points. That worked and I killed him with stll mana left. Crystal dragon was sacrificed though in killing the catapult.

Too expensive spells
I already thought about that hole, hence expensive spells on the opponents will be removed by new version... you guys can try in the meantime to find the "wanted" solution :)
Author: Nautilus (Vienna), 06-01-2013 04:44 Re 1 Nope
2 Partly correct
3 True
4 You dont need to, Le Strada will finish off anything stll alive
5 Gets warm...
Author: Valery (France), 06-01-2013 04:34 I thought A few parameters I thought about:
1) Rusts should stay on moat somehow
2) Split the sharps 4/1, shoot with the 4 stack, cast blind on the 1 stack turn.
3) Hypnotize trick does not work, what Mira says has no sense, you can't shoot when hypnotized units are nearby
4) Not sure if we HAVE to keep to crystal dragon
5) Summon elementals and block somehow?
So any of those speculations is close to the solution, or I miss something obvious here?
Author: Valery (France), 06-01-2013 00:30 Mira Mira, do you have a screen of how you position the hypnotized imps? They can't protect ammo card and sharps at once, at least I did not find a way. Still searching.

Wondered myself, would be very nice to see! :)
Valery writes:

imps
Looks like this is the only way, but kill 10 rusts only with turrets? It takes hours and not enough mana for hypnotize?
That's true, because the battle is not meant to be beaten like that (still hope I didn't overlook something, but the mana turret issue I looked into before releasing).
Let's say, you need a kinda....unconventio nal tactic for this fight. I can help if needed.
Author: Mira (Bulgaria), 29-12-2012 14:08 Re Yes, I have all of them plus Hells Kitchen, so that makes 11.
As for battle with Sir Lock: after reducing the imps, I cast hypnotise on them and put them next to the sharpshooters. Bad guy won't attack its own unit. The rest is done by shooting his rust dragons and casting magic arrow from time to time :)
Nautilus writes:

Argh
That was not the solution I wanted to be used >.< Hopefully this won't be able to be done in the new version...
Author: Nautilus (Vienna), 29-12-2012 02:32 Hirn instead of Sidmaaaagnkk Sorry, forgot you didn't get the deadline.
Then I think you conquered Hirn instead, right?
As for the town, It serves as a nice town portal outpost and on day 50 (I think, haven't got the map right now) will steal most of you wealth and reward you with dwellings.
Author: Nautilus (Vienna), 29-12-2012 02:25 Semi-important Well, the timegate is not unimportant, but to be able to open it, you must make the most out of every turn. Otherwise you lose parts of your army...
I guess you got the following towns:
Drachens Auge
Schlachter
Niflheim
Der Fassdeckel
Sybrg. Verlag
R'yleh
Acker
Sidmaaaagnkk
Locus discordi
Minas Ithil
If yes, you are indeed supposed to beat Phantomas next. As for {}, you need to find a way to avoid him for some time...
How did you beat Sir Lock, may I ask?
(I hope I left no hole unclosed in that battle, that's why I ask)
Author: Mira (Bulgaria), 29-12-2012 01:32 HI Time is not an issue. I am there on m1w2d6 - one day earlier. Anyway, 70000 experience is not that crucial. I missed the deadline for the questguard before town Sidmaaaagnkk. Is it important? Otherwise I am level 38, have 10 towns and I am stuck. Everything ahead seems too strong. May be I could beat Phantomas, but the guy with the zounds of Faerie Dragons blows me off in two moves. Am I missing something?
Author: Nautilus (Vienna), 28-12-2012 15:51 Confused Are you 100% sure about the issue? I just tried and it works just fine... I hope you took the transformed Ein Freund to the Event? At least it should work if you do that.
On which day did you visit it?
Author: Mira (Bulgaria), 28-12-2012 05:15 me again Hi, there is something wrong with the event on 22,97,0 right after the quest guard that let transformed Ein Freund and give 70 000 experience. It always shut down the game (again tried several times on different computers)
Author: Nautilus (Vienna), 26-12-2012 05:22 to Valery I know, but its just like the fight against Sir Lock. At the start of the map you can put the most constructed battles, later on people tend to save troops over and over, just locking invaders on sea etc...did you manage the fight already?
Author: Nautilus (Vienna), 26-12-2012 05:04 Caught the bug Thats the problem if you keep over 160 versions of one map on your computer: Sometimes you fixe a bug, but edit previous version next time, still playtesting the newer one though...
In my case, I had the version 16.9t (where t stands for test) and the version 16.9, in which the bug first occured. I fixed it in version 16.9t, planning to rename it to 17.0 later on. Of course not. I rather playtest 16.9t without bugs and continue mapping on 16.9...
However, I'm sorry for the inconvenience, and Im pretty sure nothing should happen now (tested 7 times and worked 7 times): Using a "timebomb" as I call it. Should red decide to stay in the castle, "Der Operator" will release a hero which will water walk to death, while Der Operator visits a swan pond for the next 3 rounds. So it is crucial to make sure Doppelbert leaves town after 3 days maximum. But he never stayed longer than that now, after I put a few quest guards here and there (Pay attention to "Cool man", who warns you of "wood").
I'll send in the new version to update, for now, refer to this link:
http://www9.zippysha re.com/v/17915051/fi le.html
Im sorry again.
Author: Mira (Bulgaria), 25-12-2012 23:44 to Nautilus Hi, I replay the game several times on three different computers (just to avoid chances of bugs) and it is all the same - the moment I upgrade the giant into titan the red guy (Doppelbert) enters the Dungeon city and hides there and the other very bad guy appears after two turns and take my garnizon, the Stronghold and everything on the way, then go somewhere into one way Monolith, but I loose all chances of becoming level 18 in time.
Author: Valery (France), 25-12-2012 11:50 Efreets Thanks, I will try a couple more before asking for screens. Very tricky battle, maybe not the best to put on day 1, it kills early nerves :)
Author: Nautilus (Vienna), 25-12-2012 03:04 Puzzle Yes, KI will get behind your trick if you stay on the same spot.
Lets sum up:
The opponent partially outspeeds you.
Every unit can take one hit (Elixier of live given).
You have one spot where you can fully cover one unit.
So try this:
Position your troops in an 1 1 1 1 manner, so that one griffin can take spot in lower half of the hole, efreets will come close, but not too close, then close the hole with remains.
Second turn one efreet attacks genie, one attacks griffin, and after that all your troops heal up.
So now you have to find a spot which makeys sure that 2 of your units get attacked once, but not twice...
If you still can't solve it, i'll give you some screens (fight is 100% possible, I did it two billion times...)
Author: Valery (France), 24-12-2012 19:48 Effrets I don't see how to position troops for efreets battle. There is that hole surrounded by obstacles, and can cage griffins with genies, but two efreets attack on one genie = dead. Efreets will attack second turn griffin + genie, but from third turn they will attack same genie.
Author: Mira (Bulgaria), 24-12-2012 02:57 to Nautilus No, I didn't defeated Doppelbert. He stays at the first Dungeon city. I will replay. Hopefully it won't happen again
Author: Nautilus (Vienna), 24-12-2012 02:43 to Mira He can only invade if you defeat Doppelbert. How did you manage this??
Andrei writes:

question for Nautilus
It was easy to defeat Doppelbert. Cast haste with genies on Titan and move him next to sharpshooters so that they can't shoot and strike them for 3 rounds until they die.
I have the same problem, at the beginning of the 2nd week, a red hero, Melusine, with legions of archangels and other castle creatures, comes through the one way monolith under the stronghold castle. Does this happen because I defeated Doppelbert?
Please answer.
Author: Mira (Bulgaria), 24-12-2012 02:41 to Nautilus The red guy is Wanarido. He has very strong Tower's army
Author: Nautilus (Vienna), 24-12-2012 00:53 ??? All read heroes but for Doppelbert should be sealed until kinda late in the game, did you maybe forget to summon a boat in order to stop Doppelberts landing at the tavern?
However, who's the hero who attacks you? And congratulations for beating the beginning so quickly ;)
Author: Mira (Bulgaria), 24-12-2012 00:39 to Nautilus Day 1, week 2 a very bad red guy comes and beat a garnison of mine (the one before the Tower castle). He obviously has taken the Barbarian castle and the beated the Naga Queens and I can't reach level 18 for the appointed time.
Is it normal that he do so? Should I be level 18 with Ein Freund or with the secon heros?
Author: Mira (Bulgaria), 23-12-2012 03:12 me again... Sorry for the previous comments.
I started playing with SOD - which is quite a challenge and everything is calculated till the last bit of move...
Still miss my elexir of life ;(. I guess I should get by without it.
Great map though!
Author: Nautilus (Vienna), 23-12-2012 02:39 Sidenotes -Play with SoD Version.
-If you are asked to trade something, you can do so.
-Sir Lock must be defeated day 1.
For your convenience...
Author: Mira (Bulgaria), 22-12-2012 17:59 to Nautilus You get Balista if you start in WOG version - your commander has speciality balista and you don't need to have it additionally.
I don't beat the effreets because of no time. Giant is not vital to be upgraded. You can proceed without Titans.
Have to replay too many times. Not a single move could be wasted
Author: Николай (Russia), 22-12-2012 00:01 Застрял Кто-нибудь может обьяснить на русском как прожить первую неделю. Спасибо. А то я в анг. неочень.
Author: Nautilus (Vienna), 21-12-2012 20:36 3 tips Actually, I planned on translating the map before releasing it on here, but the import export options won't let me do so, and finding all the events and stuff? No way...
However, I don't give help during the map but for these:
- Rübenpeter has 2 Enchanters kidnapped which he will trade for many ransom troops.
-Leave starting arena by day 6
, and kill nomads day 7.
-Ein Freund must be Level 18 when he reaches tower in order to be able to tramsform into archery specialist.
Author: Valery (France), 21-12-2012 12:04 english I tried a bit and map looks very great. Just being frustrated because difficulty is high and all is in german, so I am constantly asking myself what I am missing. Would be possible to release an english version, maybe with only important hints if too much work? I am sure the map deserves more audience, not only the few german users here.
Author: Nautilus (Vienna), 20-12-2012 00:19 Interesting... I wonder how you got the ballista? O.o
I dont see any ballista you could obtain...
However, its possible to defeat them efreets: Spread up you troops in a manner that you can cage the 2 griffins with the genies, one efreet will attack genie, another one will attack lower griffin, elixir heals your troops.
