Decades ago the wizards of Nixodor conquered this land and outlawed practicing magic for citizens. Breaking this law is punishable by death.
You've just been fired from your job in the government. You have 24 hours to leave the grounds.
Or maybe you can become the one who'll fix this broken world.

Author: Jim Pero (USA), 11-08-2021 21:59 Magocracy - Magocracy Enjoyed the map Alex
It was near impossible the first time I played it without knowing the whole map.
I was able to beat it the second time around which was a lot easier after finding the somewhat hidden seer's hut near one of the rampart towns which resulted in getting the tome of air magic
Author: wasilix, 23-06-2021 09:39 Like Great map with some cool ideas - Magocracy Some things that I liked the most:
1. Cool idea with magic and magic skills being available to only few heroes. The way magic is achieved is also great.
2. Cool map layout, especially the purple area looks badass - love the concept.
I wouldn't say that the map is challenging, but I think it's rather a good idea to be fast in the early game. For me a few fights posed issues though, namely:
- Tan (my first opponent) was rather difficult to deal with without noticeable losses due to lack of resurrection options
- Invader with implosion (Daremyth, I think) was a bit tricky to make her not cast implo. Took me some tries to understand her casting pattern to beat her without losses (I didn't have blind yet, and likely no berserk if I recall correctly).
Final fight being Neela herself was intimidating for sure, but ended up being extremely easy. I'd say that all fights after getting blind and especially berserk were rather easy. I'm not a huge fan of berserk gameplay to be honest.
Opponent armies aren't on par either after some point in time. My playthrough took me just under 6 months, and by that point opposing armies and heroes were at best on par with mine or ever weaker than that.
A few other things, that may be worth looking into:
1. Enemy heroes except first 1-2 big ones don't pose any threat - maybe give them some magic, because once your own hero has something decent to cast, they become just formality.
2. Enemy heroes wander around and in my game at least 2 of stronger enemy heroes were vanished with all of their castles captured. Not sure how this can be helped though with AI being AI... Also it's possible to trap them on some islands by destroying their ship, which I was tempted to do, but avoided doing.
Overall though a great map and definitely worth playing. Thanks to the author for the time and effort!
Author: PLayaa (Denmark), 19-06-2021 08:20 mmmh - Magocracy It says that this map is for Shadow of Death, but can it be played in HoTa aswell without crashing halfway through the map or something like that?

Someone did - see post from KN - Magocracy
Hi PLayaa,
I don't have HotA, so I haven't tested it personally, but someone else (under the alias KN) wrote below that they managed to finish this map in HotA.
Could you provide more details: does it crash during the AI's turn or in some other place?
I understand that crashes in Heroes3 can be very frustrating. Sometimes, when I get those in the HD mod, I manage to fix them by one of the following workarounds:
1) Load the game without the HD mod and play 1 day there; then go back to HD.
2) Delete/move saved games that you don't need - even though it doesn't make any sense, sometimes it does help.
3) Roll back to an earlier saved game (previous day or week) and replay (possibly, with some minor changes).
You can also try to report it to the HotA team.

No more pixel hunting :) - Magocracy
If it's any consolation, this is the only "hidden" object on the map that you *need* to find. I'm not saying there aren't others, just that you don't need to find them to complete the game.
Author: KN, 16-06-2021 18:09 Great map - Magocracy Great map!
I enjoy these types of semi-open maps, rather than just following one quest line.
Just like someone else mentioned, did the second guard with only kiting the golems. Although I already had the spellbook, I did not have any valuable spells to straight-up face fight golems. Therefore, except for red players, the second guard fight was the most difficult for me at least.
FYI I played on HOTA version.

Seer's Hut near the 2nd town - Magocracy
Visit the Seer's Hut near the second town, he'll tell you how to get a spellbook.
P.S. How did you defeat the 2nd Red hero without magic?

P- patience - Magocracy
Was in castle, if dragons were outside (catapult broken), he move golems to get them, and does not cast earthquake more then once. If i;m inside, he cast blind to all except dragons and minotaurs(strange) and just stays still outside. Towers kill two golems at the time(one broken), so it takes a lot of time to wait.

I know that I've left another loophole, which takes ~10000 turns, but I didn't expect anyone to be so patient. I'm not that cruel :)
Author: Cyron (Berlin, Germany), 15-06-2021 09:47 Playtest? - Magocracy Was this map playtested in any way? In the start you cant go north as the shield blocks it and even if you remove it in the Editor, like i did in Month 2 youre just getting destroyed by red without a chance of fighting back. so idk if the map was playtested because it doesnt seem like it.

Cast a spell on Day 1 - Magocracy
Hi Cyron,
Yes, I've fully playtested it for both factions. The sign is deliberately blocking the way, so that Red won't follow you.
Of course, if you've never heard of the spells "Fly"/"Dimension Door", this map is probably not for you: later in the game there will be tough battles, which will require deep knowledge of magic and game mechanics.
