Not sure about strategy - Leon's Redemption
Barbuta mentioned something about strategy against Unseen, but I don't remember this fight... I know for certain that I didn't bring all forces with Leon because at this point I had 2 other heroes (Wizardino + dude from swamps). Army I have been using for the most part: halflings, zealots and devils.
I recall the fight for Hardarim (1k phoenix), and there I used 4x3 devils + 48 devils stacks to wall off the shooters, and I think I used similar setup against Unseen. stacks of 3 devils aren't large enough to be a compelling target for phoenix's double attack while they are large enough to survive tower fire for a while.

Against The Unseen you can use Hypnotize to survive and hide and then finish him off in a repeating manner. You need only the devils and maybe halflings.

Author: wasilix, 13-09-2020 13:00 Like Undead dragon, fights are getting longer. Is it just me? - Leon's Redemption Hi there!
So, I've been progressing relatively well, and noticed that fight lengths became noticably longer. Starting with Tazar, there were quite a few fights that took many of monotonous turns. Not sure, maybe I'm just that "special" and couldn't find a more clever way to victory, but Beelzebub, Vellintarnem and Agony - to name a few - took quite long to beat them. Against 1st two I had to drain their mana (Vellintarnem has only haste and whooping 1900 mana!). Agony fight also took very long time, but it's due to different reasons.
The question is: is it intended or, as I said, did I miss some clever trick, or did I go there too early (not sure where else could I go though)?
Thanks!

Fight Length - Leon's Redemption
In the end the length of the battles is increased - yes. The reason? Storywise the Dead should have an overwhelming amount of troops.
About the fights you mentioned:
Against Beelzebub: You must drain his mana, but you can use a tactic similar to the one against The Unseen.
Against Agony: You can kill his shooters and use force field to make it a pretty simple battle.
Against Vellintarnem: His mana doesn't matter. You can use a tactic similar to the one against Shock Master to make the battle straight forward. The setup is a little bit more complicated though.
Important thing to note at that stage of the game: Boris Boykov and other heroes running around can die out if you take all of their towns. You must not let them die out!

re - Leon's Redemption
Interesting, I don't recall any special tactic used against Unseen.
In regards to Agony, I didn't realize that I can already get force field at this point.
Vellintarnem, I've been doing the same tactic, but the issue I had was finishing 2 last remaining blinded stacks. What happens is after shooting them, he gets to move and casts haste. In my attempts those 2 stacks were AA and pegasi. Probably if I had forcefield, it'd make it much easier! :D Damn, I wish I grabbed it as soon as I could.

It has similar vibe, but you are wrong - Leon's Redemption
I personally suck at chinese maps and never finished one of them. I started some of them, and they are often plagued by morale random, and are often indeed unclear in terms of directions.
I admit, that I have been checking the editor playing this map, and considering time limits, it may be required to keep up, but the map is fairly linear. Also author gives a few helpful tips to a Storyteller (use events on empty north tiles). There are some things, that author didn't mention in tips, which can make you replay the significant portion of the map. I certainly did replay it a couple of times, but every other time fights are much easier exactly because they aren't based on luck to begin with.

Hi. Yes, it's a pretty difficult fight, which can be screwed by morale. The good news is that dwarf stacks are small and morale doesn't always mean a loss. Hound can sustain some hits just fine, but I think it was one of the harder battles to me.
On the bright side, to credit the author: it's the only fight difficult due to morale. Most of the other fights (at least difficult ones) can actually be won with the same tactic.

You should go to him - Leon's Redemption
You should go to him using water walk. That spell can be found in the burning city of Londrovin. To access it you need to have the boots of levitation. Also teach Wizardino the spell as well.
Author: Blaz, 11-09-2020 13:49 Like Zentimo - Leon's Redemption So i finally got to zentimo. Is this battle doable with just the sharpshooters, grand elves, dragon flies and the archdevils? His army looks massive but I haven’t tried attacking him yet.
Author: wasilix, 11-09-2020 09:26 Like Suggestions - Leon's Redemption There is a trick, that Wizardino can use to finish without losses against the angels guy :) And, indeed, he doesn't have resurrect at that point. However, I think it may be okay to lose 1 in that fight, because it doesn't really seem like Wizardino needs more than 1 in fights ahead.
Shock master is a bit tricky, first off make sure you take a hidden book nearby. You'll need it to win this fight.
In general, I'd recommend trying to conserve dragon flies over pegasi. If possible try saving both of them, but to me it seemed like pegasi are more disposable than the flies. Also may prove important (I used it against Zargan further down the path), AI treats pegasi as a more valuable target, and it may buy you extra time in some cases when a dragon fly is kept alive. Most importantly, I think, is that dragon flies are 1-tile. Maybe it's worth replaying the dragon fly fight to save as many of them as possible. It isn't really that difficult (just pick the right target with your shooters each turn), it's totally doable with a single kite (i.e., all other troops are grouped around shooters in 1s or 2s)
Second thing about Shock master, I had to give up a ballista (if you don't have it, you'll probably have to give up another unit, but probably pegasi will do). 2 of the units I had to give up had to be 1-tile in size (I gave away a peasant and a dragon fly there). There is no resurrect in this fight.
It is a tricky fight, although the solution I would say is on the surface, if you take a closer look at the terrain. Also pay attention to his army, he has small stacks (they are there for a purpose) and huge stacks, and most importantly he has no 1-tile flyers. Combine that with the book.
I don't want to spoil too much for you, but let me know if you need more help with it, I'll be happy to provide it.
Author: Blaz, 11-09-2020 07:01 Like Shock master - Leon's Redemption Ok so i got past the dragonflies with only 2 flies lost and got past the angels also but i lost 1 pegasi (i have no resurrection). Author: wasilix, 10-09-2020 18:40 Like Don’t need that many pegasi and dragon flies - Leon's Redemption If you didn’t upgrade 2 flies from the swamp, I’m pretty sure you still have more than enough
Author: wasilix, 10-09-2020 18:27 Like Zentimo - Leon's Redemption You need to beat angel hero without losing any pegasi. It is possible even though it’s hard to believe at first.
For Leon path I had 6 pegasi and 5 dragon flies in addition to shooters. At first I also thought, that there must be a trick with dragon flies, but in reality it’s actually a very easy fight - just slow and kite. Very similar to efreet fight before the portal.
It’s possible to go lossless throughout, except for Storm master (have to lose at least 2 1s I think) and Zentimo (I lost 3 pegasi, didn’t bother risking to save them). Wizardino can finish his part without losing a unit.
Author: Blaz, 10-09-2020 17:19 Like Zentimo - Leon's Redemption Any tips pls. I resumed playing and I’m now on my way to Zentimo but I got stuck. Leon can’t get past the legion on dragonflies on cursed ground without taking any damage. Am I supposed to keep the 210 SS and 40 grand elves I have? And also with Wizardino I brought only 3 silver pegasi. Got past the angels fight with 1 silver pegasi left and the border guard is asking for the only pegasi left and I have nothing to battle with the sharpshooters beyond the border.

I don`t think you need any artifact there - Leon's Redemption
The trick is somewhat similar to what you did against Grelrung. The difference is that he has more shooters, which makes it a little bit trickier. How I did it:
I brought 5 pegasi. First couple of turns use 1s of pegasi to block titans and another shooter (on 1st turn), finish remaining shooter with yours under frenzy.
Make sure to NOT have any units inside castle when dragons move.
You also need to destroy the catapult, for that you can put devils and optionally sharpshooters (space them out) next to it, Zentimo will do it for you.
Devils can be used to hit and run without "waking up" of dragons after you drain his shots out.
Fire protection helps with sustaining damage of fireball. This fight is quite intense in mana use, so it will also help with it. Another thing that may help you with it is to double your mana after you gained bonus knowledge (not before) - use that market thing on the map.
Cheers! It's an awesome fight :)

Author: wasilix, 10-09-2020 08:30 Like Skill pick suggestions after cleansing? - Leon's Redemption Hi there!
I need to mention, that skills on the skill path are selected so well, that again and again I'm not sure which way should I pick.
I really want to go for Archery, as it seems by far the best 2nd choice, but it's only available if I take Air, which is probably the worst choice among 1st options. I guess Pathfinding should be passable, though I suspect that from the 1st row it may end up being most useful. I'm not sure if Fire is passable. I think you mentioned, that berserk is disabled, and it's by far the biggest reason to take Fire in the first place, but there were already a few fights where I had access to it through the book of fire. It's reasonable to expect that there may be more.
If I had to choose now, I'd probably go with Air + Archery, just because I expect Archery to be extremely valuable (especially if I get to keep sharpshooter's bow). I wish I didn't have to take Air for it, but it's still somewhat useful.
Am I gonna shoot myself into the foot by doing this?
Fire + Pathfinding is another option, which I'm contemplating over taking.
Thanks!

Fire will give you expert Blind and Frenzy.

Pathfinding will give you a faster progression through the map.
In my playthrough I chose Air+Archery but it is doable with any combination of skills.

So, I went straight to Zentimo after crystal caves. Perhaps, I should've visited swamps first? I'm flabbergasted at the sight of armies I have to beat while I have to split troops for my heroes (that is unless I'm supposed to do everything with Leon, while Wizardino waits before the first enemy with Angels)
1st surpise was a quick combat victory over dragon flies (losing machinery, 3 dragon flies and a peasant). My hunch is that you may have had it in my mind (perhaps, it's possible to do with fewer losses), but beating Shock Master seems impossible, he just wipes me out on the 2nd turn. At this point I only have sharpshooters, but even if I brought everything I have I don't see how I can beat him. My entire army is pathetic anyway, when I enter the portal, all I have is:
210 sharps, 3 flies, 3 pegasi, 40 elves.
There is a scholar in swamps, so I could at least teach Wizardino resurrect, which most of the time is useless, it could be useful against first enemy. I mean how else am I gonna beat a dude with 10 AA and 20 angels. But with my army it seems that I'm not gonna beat him regardless, especially considering a supposed split.
It seems like I missed some power boost or I'm just oblivious to something. I don't think I could smuggle in some ballistas here, it seems that the split path puzzle in crystal caverns prevents from bringing them forward.

About Zentimo's domain fights - Leon's Redemption
The fights in Zentimo's domain are quite tricky. Important things to note before you go there: Get the 2 parts of the Sharpshooters bow (you will get the 3rd one in there) and bring pegasi with you (around 9 will be enough but the more the better).
Wizardino's path can be done with as little as only 3 pegasi :).
For Leon's path you will need to bring an ammo cart. Before the Shock Master fight there is a hidden artifact that will help you win the fights.
The sharpshooters, grand elfs and maybe 2 dragon flies are the things that need to survive for the final fight (and afterwards)
You can win the fight on Wizardino's path with Leon. That is an oversight that will be corrected in an update.
You can leave the Sea Serpent for later. He has to attack you however. If you play without the SOD_SP plugin you can try to attack him, but you will not be able to and you will trigger the item/unit duplication glitch. That is not an intended behavior so don't exploit it to your advantage!

The moment the game shows the border-exchange window after the fight I have no balistas in the army :( Could it be because I have a regular balista too?
In regards to the dragon fly, I guess bringing it would be great for first move (I didn't take them yet). Are they needed further down the road to trade in for something/to open a path?
If I recall correctly, there is a serpent fly near the woodland, which I can upgrade in the fort on the hill. Curious, which troops is it safe to upgrade? So far I was afraid to upgrade something, that is needed unupgraded further to open something.

The balistas always disappear after a fight regardless if you lost them or not. So do all of the other machines but some of them are buggy and crash the game. Dragon Flies are good to have for later fights but are not needed anywhere to unlock certain quest/quest guards. In fact at that point only the genies and the sharpshooters are needed to open stuff. You can get dragonflies in the Swamp area. And you are safe t upgrade everything.

Wizardino - Leon's Redemption
Yes, you need to bring him to the northern wastelands. There is a bit of maneuvering around with the orange dragon hero. You need to wait for him to the area with the 3 portals. Stand with Wizardino on the other side of the 1 way portal (the one that Deactivator went through) and wait for him to try and attack you. He will open the shortcut and go around which allows you to go to Dragon Outpost with Wizardino. From then on the dragon hero will do 1 of 2 things. Either he will run around to Woodland/Dragon' ;s Realm collecting gold from water wheels or he will go and kill Deactivator.
About the elves: if you leave them behind the dragon hero will kill them and you need them to get the clone and sacrifice spells later on. It is not fatal if you lose them but the clone spell will make a few battles easier at the end.

Dread - Leon's Redemption
There isn't a specific trick for killing Dread. You need to survive the magic arrow with resurrection. You can bring the genies with you for the fight and get a frenzy cast to save 1 or 2 turns. The battle is doable with 180 mana (9 knowledge). On my last attempt I got 2 frenzy casts on the SS and used up 157 mana but I made a mistake and had to resurrect twice needlessly, so it is possible to win with 125 mana or 7 knowledge. There is a school of magic on an island you can get with Leon (if you haven't done so already)

Thanks - Leon's Redemption
Yeah, I went to pick it up after asking the question here. And also took genies from Wizardino, thanks to that I realized that there is a +3K headpiece that I didn't give to Leon before :D

2nd island - Leon's Redemption
Use water walk with Exiled Maria to go to the 2nd island get on the boat and land back on the 1st island. Then you can water walk again to the 2nd island and get Exiled Roner on the boat.
