The Great Legend Of Gosbey's Gold has been around for centuries. The story tells of an immense loot hidden by the famous pirate, Gruesome Gosbey. Gosbey, an ancient master of death, once ravaged the seas, terrifying all who blundered into his range. His unnatural life span allowed hundreds of years of pillaging and rampaging. Out there, somewhere, is the wealth of kings - somewhere in Blackwater Bay.

Six cities have been at war for decades, and each maintains multiple garrisons on their frontiers. Despite sending regular reinforcements, the struggle remains dead even. Now, the leaders of these war-torn cities have enlisted heroes to end this conflict, offering plentiful troops and enticing rewards.
(Each new month, garrisons receive free reinforcements, but only if the garrison and nearby town are controlled by the same player. Instant Travel is disabled; the only way through is to fight!)

Four small, isolated towns lay in a northern region with dense forests and rich ore and mineral deposits. They were separated by a large mountain range and had limited contact with each other. But all of this changed when they discovered a vast network of caves beneath the mountains. In the caverns lay treasures beyond imagining, as well as infernal guardians who jealously guarded their horde. The rulers of the four cities made war over these riches under the pretense of eliminating the demonic threat.
Notes: All towns are located on the surface level but must pass through the underground to reach each other. The center of the map has many relics guarded by demonic armies, and the corners have "mage rooms" housing spells and caster bonuses. (Barbarians receive 5000 xp instead of spells)
