This was really a fun map! i played solo at hardest was kinda a challenge but with necro u kinda just snowball. i won in 10 months . Great work. love to see more maps like this :) it would be much harder to win if u werent playing necro^^ 10/10 more...
While doing the map I noticed many AI blocking with caravans, and if I take cities I get many caravans from enemy AI. It seems AI is not able to manage caravans, to a point it create traffic jams and make the game very slow: probably what creates my savegame unloadable too. more...
Sorry to say that, the map blocked after I beat the 3rd player too (with a relatively small army on my necromancy hero - 4k skeletons-170 vampires-30 dragons-500 spiders- 200 lamasu), I'm not able to reload a savegame.
My Pc is decent, 8Gb Ram + Radeon HD8750 with addition 2Gb DDR5 Ram.
Nice map. I liked the ideas of spell learning and picking secondary skills for 2 main heroes.
I finished in 205 days, using the horn, rushing. Didn't get the Grail, AI found it before, so 442 points this time.
At the very end, I had to cheat a bit, since I could not find black tent needed t more...
I found myself chasing AI until I lost interest... I appreciate the time invested to make and test the map, but it is far from enjoyable (at least for me). I suppose giving town portal,blind and animate dead would make it too easy, but chasing around AI is really not an alternative. more...
Have wulfstan clear as much of the surface as possible (take all mines, caches, etc.), and make sure he finds the blue keymaster tent (it's past the first dwarven garrison, IRRC). later, you can zip over past the red garrision, but DON'T get too close to the castle in the SW until you are ready; Laszlo will move to attack you if you do.
Take ALL of the Haven troops and place them with your best haven hero (which should be Freyda, since that's the one you developed the most).
Take Freyda and Shadwyn underground ASAP. Have whoever has the best army take the closest underground town, send the other to the further gate to take that town. again, don't wait around, have whoever is closest go and take the third town.
While you are taking the three red towns, focus on building up armies that would complement the best either Shadwyn or Freyda have to offer; typically only focus on the top tiers, though i would pick succubi, pit lords, and devils. Only upgrade ONE of the red castles (most likely the last castle you take will be pretty far along), build the basic creature structures at the others and transfer them via caravan to the upgraded town for upgrading.
As soon as one of your heroes is free from dealing with the red towns, send them to the blue key gate. the stack guarding the teleporter joined my hero, so I would send whichever hero matches the stack type you see there.
Take the dungeon town and again, build complements for the army you are developing with inferno. After two months, I easily had enough with the combined armies to get the job done.
Alaric will apparently completely ignore you if you find him on the dwarf side, so don't worry about attacking him.
Get ready for the dwarf hero to blast your armies with armageddon over and over, and it's a "timed" battle (that's worth a rant in and of itself, but not here), so be ready for that too.
My recommendation would be too use Shadwyn with the underground armies, don't waste time trying to resurrect anything, just blast away with ranged attacks and empowered meteor showers. your blackies will survive the spell onslaughts, so once the heavy hitters in the castle are whittled down a bit, move your dragons on in and mop up. Don't wait with your devils, though, move those guys in there in the very first turn for maximum impact; suggest using them on any ranged units, the spearchuckers if not protected, or the warlords if they are.
i think im missing something here ive been tring to complete hof mission five with the dwarf king thats super strong in these hints everyone is talking about Shadwyn i do not have her for some reason i have ylsana isabele duncan freyda and wuffy. where is this other person and also freyda isnt my strongest hero its ysana
Hi guys! I agree with Vallentine this is walkthrough is totally useless!!! I am stucked with this mission completely. How on earth can I defeat the dwarf king? I already have seized all the inferno and two dungeon castles and still I cannot defeat the dwarves!
Any useful help?

Open the map in the editor. Click on View-->Map properties-->Team s and set up whatever you and your cousin want to team up with.
The maps that come with the game are unfortunately packed so you can't use them like this but you can do this with fan made maps that you have downloaded.
When two players want to play hotseat senarios, can they both be on the same side as alies? Because my cousin and I tried that, and I can't figure out what or how I'm supposed to do this. Any help?

In 4th campaign: be sure to have Magic guild level 5 (to ensure that Isabel and Shadwyn have "instant travel" and "town portal".
Attack the first border gate --> use Isabel to get the Ore pit here
Have Shadwyn teleported and kill the Dark Rider guard the Teleporter, after that use Isabel to get the Dungeon town plus all mines ;)
Shadwyn full speed ahead to rescue Honcrest (ya would reach it at the end of the week like me :P)
So with Honcrest town in hand and new two super heros : Wulstan and Freyda we will have some new tactics (do ya best to obtain mines in the fastest way and dont forget that ya always have ....INSTANT TRAVEL :p)

In the campaigns, whenever a stack is insanely big, it usually means that the path is blocked until much later, or the stack is there for story purposes.

This "walkthrough&qu ot; is completely useless. I'm playing this mission on hard level, and Dwarven King didn't used even one armageddon! Just emplosions all over again... Blue tent is need to get through the gates leading to the only Dungeon city on map, but teleport is guarding well (eg. 140-170 Dark Elf upgreaded riders) so I've just siezed most of inferno cities (these are enough for your DE hero) which is three, but I'm sure, there is more of them underground. I can only agree with Alaric, he's strong, but worthless of paying any attention. Anyway, I don't know why someone wasted time for writing such shyt which don't saying anything important, just all bullshyts, which anyone can imagine by self.
