Bei einer Revolte wird Konig Tolghar vom Priester Hangful getotet. Die beiden Sohne Rolf und Wulfstan erfahren vom Aufstand der Priester und schworen blutige Rache. Die Aussicht auf Thronfolge und Gold lasst jedoch ihre Bruderliebe ziemlich schnell erkalten.
So sammeln sie ihre Gefolgsleute und machen sich von ihren Provinzen auf den Weg um das reiche Land ihres Vaters zu ubernehmen. Unweigerlich werden sich ihre Wege kreuzen und Wulfstan wei?, dass er Rolf besser nicht in die Arme lauft, er aber immer schon der Schlauere und Gerissenere war.
